Souter is a ceramic artist currently living and working in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He received his B.F.A in Crafts with a concentration in ceramics from the University of the Arts in May 2012 and is currently in a work-exchange program where he receives free studio space and access to firing and materials, creating an opportunity to experiment with and expand his unique body of ceramic sculpture.
Constructed of hand-built porcelain, each piece is fired 20 times to build up the reticulated glaze that is a signature aspect of his work.
In the fall of 2013, he will be an artist-in-residence at the Guldagergard International Ceramic Research Center in Skaelskor, Denmark. The Windgate Charitable Foundation Fellowship, a nationally juried fellowship for recent graduates doing continuing studying in the field of craft, has generously been supporting his practice.
This is the first time Snyderman-Works Galleries has exhibited his work.
